Dr. Phillip Marshall has been a full-time professor at Houston Baptist University in the Department of Classics and Biblical Languages since 2008, where he focuses on Classical Biblical Hebrew and Hellenistic Greek. His areas of expertise include the Septuagint, early Greek translations of the Hebrew Bible, textual criticism, Hebrew and Greek grammar, and biblical exegesis. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Marshall serves as the Pastor of Adult Education and Discipleship at Founders Baptist Church in Spring, TX. He is the co-author of Qoheleth, a grammatical commentary on Ecclesiastes (Baylor Press, 2017), and is under contract with Zondervan Academic for a forthcoming commentary on Haggai. Dr. Marshall holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from The Master’s University.
